Manassas Man Charged with Involuntary Manslaughter,
DUI in Fatal Pedestrian Crash
Loudoun County, VA- An Aldie man lost his life after he was struck by a driver while he was walking along Loudoun County Parkway near Dulles West Boulevard.
The crash occurred around 7:39 a.m. Sunday. The preliminary investigation indicates that Muhammad S. Khalid, 66, of Aldie, was walking southbound on Loudoun County Parkway when he was struck by a driver of a southbound vehicle. The victim succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
The driver of the vehicle remained on scene and a witness called 9-1-1.
The driver was identified as Opoku Atuahene, 38, Manassas, VA. Atuahene was arrested and charged with Involuntary Manslaughter and Driving under the Influence. He is being held at the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center pending a bond review.
