Chantilly Teenager Charged with Unlawfully
Filming Fellow Classmates
Loudoun County, VA- A Chantilly, Va. teenager was charged Friday with unlawfully filming his classmates in various stages of undress at Freedom High School.
The 16-year-old, whose name cannot be released because he is a juvenile, is facing five felony counts of unlawfully filming persons under the age of 18, including two cases of ‘upskirting’. The suspect used a small device to video record students inside a school bathroom, locker room and at some school events.
Detectives with the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office Special Victims Unit have identified multiple victims in the case and they have all been notified. Additional charges are possible.
The case came to light after a student reported on February 8 that they believed another student was recording them while they were in the bathroom. School personnel from Freedom High School contacted the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office to further investigate the incident.
At this point in the investigation there is no indication the videos were distributed in any manner.
The teenager is currently being held at the Loudoun County Juvenile Detention Center.
