George C. Page, 44, of Centreville, Va. and Mehmet Dagistan, 50, of Arlington, Va., were both connected to the embezzlement scheme that was first reported to the Loudoun Sheriff’s Office in June 2014. Through the course of the investigation it was discovered that the scheme of falsifying granite purchases to unauthorized vendors started in 2012. Prior to his arrest, Page worked as the Operations Manager at the company’s warehouse located in Sterling, Va. Page organized a scheme in which he would sell granite to installers who were not registered as authorized vendors with the company. In addition, Page would collect and keep the cash from the purchaser by creating false invoices. Page was arrested and pled guilty in Loudoun County Circuit Court in June to felony charges of embezzlement. He was also ordered to pay back restitution of $40,000. Dagistan was one of the unauthorized vendors who purchased the company’s granite slabs directly from Page. After a thorough investigation, it was learned that Dagistan was aware of Page’s activity and continued to partake in the embezzlement scheme. Dagistan was arrested June 3, 2016, by the Arlington County Police Department on the two (2) counts of Conspiracy to Commit Felony Embezzlement. He is scheduled to appear in Loudoun County Circuit Court this month. Loudoun County Sheriff’s Detectives worked closely with the Loudoun County Commonwealth Attorney’s Office and Chief Financial Officer (CFO), Legal Affairs Head and the Inventory Manager at company’s North American Headquarters to investigate the criminal activity. ###
