The Loudoun County government has again received national recognition for its data-driven management and communication efforts. The International City/County Management Association (ICMA) has awarded Loudoun a Certificate of Distinction in Performance Management. This is a higher level of recognition than the county has received in the past.
Loudoun received the award for its success in collecting and verifying data to ensure reliability and improve performance, training staff in performance measurement and reporting data transparently to the public through documents such as the Loudoun County Budget and the Loudoun County Budget Story. In addition, Loudoun was recognized for providing comparative and benchmarking information to the public, using performance data in strategic planning and operational decision-making, and sharing knowledge with other local governments through presentations, site visits, and other networking activities.
Loudoun County is among 19 jurisdictions receiving the Certificate of Distinction and one of 63 recognized overall. This is the ninth year the county’s performance management efforts have been recognized by ICMA.
ICMA provides support, publications, data and information, peer and results-oriented assistance, and training and professional development to more than 12,000 appointed city, town, and county leaders and other individuals and organizations throughout the world.
