Commercial property owners, capital providers, contractors and community members are encouraged to attend an upcoming workshop about Loudoun’s new Commercial Property Assessed Clean Energy (C-PACE) Program. The free workshop is scheduled for November 7, 2019, from 3:00 – 4:30 p.m., at the Loudoun County Government Center in the Dulles Room, 1 Harrison Street SE in Leesburg, followed by an exhibition in the Government Center lobby from 4:30 – 6:30 p.m.
C-PACE is a financing tool that allows commercial property owners to make energy efficient, water conservation and renewable energy upgrades through innovative financing with no upfront costs. Property owners receive long-term, 100% financing from qualified capital providers for new equipment, building improvements and solar installations. The loan is repaid through the owners’ property tax bill or directly through qualified capital providers. The C-PACE loans are provided by private lenders and backed by voluntary special assessments liens levied by the county against the borrower’s property.
The Loudoun County Board of Supervisors adopted an ordinance in February 2019 to allow the C-PACE financing. The program is administered by the Virginia PACE Authority.
The November 7 workshop will include information about the C-PACE Program’s financing, technical training and a question-and-answer session. Registration is requested for the workshop. A link to register, and more information about the Loudoun C-PACE program, is online at loudoun.gov/cpace.
