Loudoun County Recycling Center in Hillsboro Closing

The Loudoun County drop-off recycling center in Hillsboro will close by January 1, 2020.

The current recycling center at the Hillsboro Charter Academy will be removed by the first of the year. Residents of the area are encouraged to begin using the Central Western Loudoun Recycling Center, which is located about six miles from Hillsboro at 38159 Colonial Highway in Hamilton, at the Loudoun County Public Schools Valley Service Center, across the street from Harmony Middle School. Service capacity will be expanded at the Hamilton location, if needed, to support any increase to the collection of recyclables. 

Over the long term, Loudoun County is investigating a possible relocation of the Hillsboro recycling center to another site closer to the community.
