[ARCHIVED] Loudoun Allocates American Rescue Plan Act Funding to Nonprofits and Faith-Based Organizations

Loudoun County has allocated nearly $2.5 million to 36 local nonprofits and faith-based organizations that are working to mitigate the negative impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic. The allocation is part of the county’s American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 funding. 

Following approval of the funding program by the Board of Supervisors in May 2021, the county accepted requests in June and July from local organizations seeking funding for programs in one of four categories: emergency food assistance, COVID-19 service expansion, service interruption and nonprofit service continuity. 

The awardees are as follows, listed by main service areas:

Adult Education 

  • Loudoun Literacy Council: $49,931.25    

Childcare/Early Education 

  • All Ages Read Together: $53,358.11    
  • Equus CAN Educate: $6,468.50        

Day Programs 

  • Community Residences, Inc.: $75,000.00    
  • ECHO: $100,000.00 
  • The Arc of Loudoun: $55,381.90    

Direct Assistance 

  • Community Foundation for Loudoun and Northern Fauquier Counties: $16,318.50
  • Humane Society of Loudoun County: $2,520.00
  • Women Giving Back: $4,950.25        

Domestic Violence 

  • Loudoun Citizens for Social Justice Inc. (LAWS): $120,146.50

Domestic Violence/Child Abuse 

  • SCAN of Northern Virginia: $41,952.50    

Employment Assistance 

  • Legacy Farms Virginia: $13,081.25    
  • Northern Virginia Family Service: $303,434.50    

Food Assistance 

  • Bdesh Foundation: $150,000.00
  • Hearts of Empowerment: $5,000.00
  • Loudoun Education Foundation: $7,500.00 
  • Loudoun Hunger Relief: $150,000.00 
  • Mobile Hope: $271,665.24
  • Riverside Presbyterian Church: $4,679.33    
  • Seven Loaves Services: $25,000.00
  • Sterling United Methodist Church: $6,553.75

  • Bringing Resources to Aid Women’s Shelters (BRAWS): $22,500.00    
  • Loudoun Free Clinic: $103,129.22

Legal Services 

  • Piedmont Dispute Resolution Center, Inc.: $6,250.00

Mental Health/Behavioral Health 

  • A Place To Be: $39,375.00
  • INMED Partnerships for Children, Inc.: $263,652.48 
  • Pathway Homes, Inc.: $17,500.00        
  • Youth For Tomorrow: $60,000.00    

Rental Assistance/Housing 

  • Friends of Loudoun Mental Health: $10,584.00
  • St. Gabriel's Episcopal Church: $121,159.50    
  • The Salvation Army of Loudoun: $172,260.00 
  • Tree of Life Ministries: $128,250.00
