Loudoun County, VA (April 22, 2022) – The Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office, Town of Leesburg Police Department, Town of the Middleburg Police Department, and the Town of Purcellville Police Department have once again partnered with the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) in the “Take-Back” initiative that seeks to prevent increased pill abuse and theft. The service is free and anonymous, no questions asked.
Loudoun County residents can discard potentially dangerous expired, unused, and unwanted prescription drugs for destruction on Saturday, April 30, 2022, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., at seven sites in the county:
Ashburn Station

ACCEPTABLE ITEMS: Prescription medications, Over-The-Counter Medications, Medical Samples, Pet Medications, Vape Pens/E-Cigarettes (battery must be removed).
NON-ACCEPTABLE ITEMS: Needles, Epi-Pens, Thermometers, Batteries, IV Bags, Blood or Infectious Waste, Liquids, Gels, or Sprays.
Since the inception of the DEA take-back program in 2010, over 16,000 pounds of unwanted and unused prescription medications have been collected in Loudoun County.
