Loudoun County, VA (April 28, 2023) – Yesterday, the Virginia Sheriffs’ Institute (VSI) recognized six members of the LCSO during their Spring Conference for receiving their VSI Certification.
The Virginia Sheriffs’ Institute offers the Certification Program to recognize the continued individual professional development of Virginia sheriffs and deputies. Certification through this voluntary program provides recognition of a sheriff or deputy’s commitment to excellence, life-long learning, and advancement of public safety as a profession.
LCSO members of the 2023 class include Major Robert Tricarico, 1st Lieutenant Joshua Lowder, 2nd Lieutenant Randall Stackpole, Sergeant Joshua Edney, Sergeant Eric Mbah, and Master Deputy Shannon Coderre.
Also recognized, were LCSO members that achieved recertification this year including Sheriff Michael Chapman, Lieutenant Colonel Christopher Sawyer, Master Deputy Ronald Beach, and Sergeant Raymond Gessner.
Since the program’s inception in 2018, 29 members of the LCSO have graduated from the program and received their certification.
The Virginia Sheriffs’ Institute (VSI), in cooperation with the Virginia Sheriffs’ Association (VSA), the Performance Management Group at the L. Douglas Wilder School of Government and Public Affairs at Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU), and the Virginia Center for Policing Innovation (VCPI), has developed the VSI Certification Program to promote, recognize and elevate the continued individual professional development of Virginia’s sheriffs and deputies.
