Do I need to display a Loudoun County decal on my Vehicle?

No. The vehicle decal requirement has been eliminated effective July 1, 2018. Beginning July 1, 2018, a license fee of $25.00 will be assessed thereafter each tax year beginning 2019. Individuals residing within the incorporated Town of Hillsboro should contact the town regarding town decal requirements.

2. Now that decals are no longer required, do I have to register my vehicle for personal property tax?

Yes. If you intend to have your car garaged, parked or stored in Loudoun County for 30 days or more, you must register the vehicle in Loudoun County. Your car is assessed property tax for the length of time it is located in Loudoun County. If your vehicle is registered in Virginia, you may register it with Loudoun County by clicking on the link below:
