Overview


Claude Moore Park features wooded lanes, green meadows, sparkling ponds and wildlife, providing a unique green space for nearby neighborhoods and businesses. There are two entrances to the property:

Old Vestal's Gap Road (northern entrance) leads to:
  • Lanesville Historic District
  • Natural areas
  • Visitor Center
Loudoun Park Lane (southern park entrance), leads to:
  • Claude Moore Recreation and Community Center
  • Loudoun Heritage Farm Museum
  • Sportsplex

 Highlights

  • Vestal's Gap Visitor Center with restrooms, park maps and information, a water fountain and the Discovery Room with hands-on activities and live-animal displays
  • 11 miles of hiking trails
  • 2 fishing ponds
  • 2 picnic pavilions (available for rent)

  • Sportsplex: baseball, softball and rectangular fields (available for scheduled use)

Rules

  • No natural or historic materials may be removed from the park.
  • No animals may be released in the park.

Dogs In Parks

Dogs are generally allowed in parks while on a physical leash and under the control of the owner (ordinance 612.13), however, per county ordinance 1092.21, there are certain areas within parks that dogs are prohibited.
