General Information

A Primary Election has been called and is hereby scheduled on June 13, 2017, for the purpose of nominating a candidate for the Democratic Party for the offices of Governor, Lieutenant Governor, and House of Delegates Districts 33 and 67.

A Primary Election has been called and is hereby scheduled on June 13, 2017, for the purpose of nominating a candidate for the Republican Party for the offices of Governor, and Lieutenant Governor.

Information for Voters

This election is open to all registered voters in Loudoun County. The Commonwealth of Virginia does not recognize party affiliation when registering citizens to vote.

Polling Place: Vote at your normal polling location with the exception of the following precincts that have been temporarily relocated for this election ONLY;
- 209 Potomac Falls is voting at River Bend Middle School
- 309 Aldie is voting at Church of Our Redeemer
- 413 Tuscarora is voting at Frances Hazel Reid Elementary School

Hours: Polls will be open from 6:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 13, 2017.

Online Voter Registration Deadline: Monday, May 22, 2017 at 11:59 p.m. (https://www.vote.virginia.gov)

In-Person Voter Registration Deadline: Monday, May 22, 2017 at 5:00 p.m.

By-Mail Voter Registration Deadline: Postmarked no later than May 22, 2017.

Write-in candidates are not permitted in primary elections in the Commonwealth of Virginia.  Voters may request either the Democratic Party Ballot OR the Republican Party Ballot but not both.

Absentee Voting Information

Ballots for both In-Person and By-Mail Absentee Voting will be available and absentee voting will begin on Friday, April 28, 2017.  Applications for absentee ballots by mail will be processed and ballots mailed on this date.

Deadlines:
- Last day to apply to have a ballot mailed to you is Tuesday, June 6, 2017 at 5:00 p.m.
- Last day to vote an absentee ballot in person is Saturday, June 10, 2017 (office will be open 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.)
