The intent of this Request for Proposal (RFP) is to obtain a Contractor to provide rigging, transport and crane services for two (2) WMATA 1000-series railcars from the WMATA Greenbelt Maintenance Facility in Greenbelt, Maryland (5801 Sunnyside Avenue in College Park Maryland) to the Loudoun County Fire and Rescue (LCFR) Training Facility in Leesburg, Virginia, where it will need to be placed onto train tracks at an already-constructed training prop site. This prop is a 95 foot-long replica of the WMATA Silver Line right-of-way, including third rail, barriers and fencing that has been constructed (See Attachment 1).
The Contractor is required to arrange loading of the two (2) railcars at WMATA’s Greenbelt Facility, trucking of the railcars from Greenbelt to Leesburg and craning of the railcars into position at the LCFR Training Facility prop site. Loudoun County (“the County”) will provide contact information for the appropriate parties at WMATA for coordination with the Contractor upon award of the Contract. Site coordination with WMATA is the Contractor’s responsibility.
