Bike to Work Day is open to new and experienced bicycle riders. The event celebrates a clean, healthy and fun way to get to work at more than 80 different pit stops throughout the metropolitan Washington region.
Loudoun County sponsors two pit stops adjacent to the Washington and Old Dominion Trail in:
- Leesburg at Raflo Park on Harrison Street from 6:00 to 9:00 a.m.
- Sterling, just east of Route 28, at Ruritan Road behind Orbital ATK from 6:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m.
Take a break at a pit stop on your way to work for lots of food, fun and prizes. Each pit stop will provide registered attendees with free T-shirts and chances to win bicycles and other great prizes. T-shirts are available to the first 15,000 who register and attend. Registration is free and can be done online:
This free event is coordinated regionally by the Washington Area Bicyclist Association and the Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments. The local festivities are planned by Loudoun County Commuter Services. Last year's record-breaking event drew more than 17,500 bicycle commuters across the region.
