Award Criteria
It is critical that sufficient information is collected about the site and those individuals and companies involved in the project so that accurate decisions about the nominees can be made by the judges. During the development process every effort should be made to document the activities on the site with photos, activity descriptions and inspection reports. Projects should be recognized early in the development process so that appropriate documentation can be collected throughout the length of the project.

Judging Process
Several agencies will be involved in the judging process, including the Virginia Department of Conservation and Recreation Potomac Watershed Office, the Loudoun County Soil and Water Conservation District, the Loudoun County Planning Department, and the Loudoun County Department of Building and Development.

Award Notification & Recognition
Award recipients each year will be notified in the fall and will be recognized by the county for their efforts in protecting the county’s natural resources at a presentation in the winter. For more information, contact the Department of Building and Development at 703-777-0220.
