Vector Control Information
A "vector" refers to an organism, such as a tick or mosquito, that carries disease-causing microorganisms from one host to another. Infections transferred by vectors are referred to as vector-borne diseases, and include such infections as Lyme disease and Zika and West Nile virus. Vector control refers to the process of eradicating or controlling the disease-carrying insects.
