Swimming Lessons
Overview
The Franklin Park Pool is an authorized provider of the American Red Cross Swimming and Water Safety Program for infants, toddlers, school aged children, and adults. Classes are offered during the summer Monday through Thursday for two weeks with Fridays used as weather make-up days. Classes are not held during thunderstorms.

For swimming classes offered during the summer months, refer to our quarterly Parks, Recreation, and Community Services Brochure. Register for swimming lessons online through WebTrac.

Individual Lessons
For ages 3 and up, half-hour lessons are arranged by advance appointment only. Lessons offer individualized attention for the person who seeks one-on-one swimming instruction. A minimum of four lessons must be scheduled at paid for at the time of registration. The price per session is $25 for individual lessons or $35 for semi-private.

American Red Cross Parent & Child Aquatics
Developed for children 6 months to 5 years of age, American Red Cross Parent and Child Aquatics builds swimming readiness by emphasizing fun in the water. Parents and children participate in several guided practice sessions that help children learn elementary skills, including water entry, bubble blowing, front kicking, back floating, underwater exploration, and more.

American Red Cross Learn-to-Swim
Our new Learn-to-Swim offers something for everybody. A unique six-level instructional approach is unlike anything offered by other aquatic training programs. Plus our instructors are trained and certified by the American Red Cross, so swimmers of all ages and abilities are in good hands.

The prerequisite for each level is the successful demonstration of the skills from the preceding level, except for Level 1, which has no prerequisite. Each level of Learn-to-Swim includes training in basic water safety and helping others in an emergency, in addition to skills. Learn more about the levels of instruction.
