Our mission is to serve less fortunate families, children, and senior citizens by providing much needed items in a manner that promotes dignity and self respect. We believe that a single act of kindness can be the turning point towards a brighter future for those in need.
In 1996, a number of government and nonprofit agencies met to design a better way to serve families in need during the holidays. The goal was to prevent duplication of services and assure fairness and equitability to all. Now, there is one application process for those in need and all food and gifts are distributed from a centralized location.
Eligible families "shop" in a store that has been stocked with donations of new merchandise, allowing families a sense of choice and dignity. The store is held annually during the Christmas season. Hundreds of volunteers and donors come together to set up the store and help with distribution. It is truly a community effort to bring the magic of the holidays to everyone.
