Everyone Wins with Commuting Choices
Employers, employees and the region are all positively impacted by smart workplace commuting solutions.
Employers who introduce or expand solutions experience an improved employee morale, an increased level of employee productivity, and easier recruitment and retention of their best employees.
Individual employees who choose alternatives to driving alone reduce the wear and tear on their vehicles, gain a better work/life balance, lessen the stress of driving to and from work, and save money on fuel and tolls.
Best Workplaces for CommutersSM
Employers offering commuter benefits may also qualify for national recognition and an elite designation through Best Workplaces for CommutersSM (BWC). Organizations may qualify for"Best Workplaces” or the parallel “Best Sites” designation. Loudoun County Commuter Services assists with the BWC application process and membership in this innovative program.
To qualify, employers provide access to facilities that support alternatives to driving alone, and take actions such as offering a choice of commuting benefits; meet minimum participation levels; designate a point of contact for employees’ commuting questions; and provide participants’ access to the region’s free Guaranteed Ride Home.
Best Workplaces meet the National Standard of Excellence in commuter benefits, which was created by the National Center or Transit Research (NCTR) and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. Best Workplaces for CommutersSM is managed by the Center for Urban Transportation Research at the University of South Florida (USF) with support from members, partnering organizations and the NCTR at USF.
