Loudoun County Home Repair for the Elderly and Persons with Disabilities
Loudoun County Home Improvement funds can be used to assist elderly and/or persons with disabilities homeowners with emergency repairs and/or accessibility items. The Loudoun County Home Repair for the Elderly and Persons with Disabilities is available to homeowners who are at or below 50% of the Area Median Income (AMI). The program provides funds through a one time forgivable grant of up to $5000 to make emergency repairs and/or accessibility renovations to the primary residence. The program brochure is located by clicking here
How it Works
The homeowner, county construction technician and a contractor assess the repair and/or accessibility needs of the property. Grants are awarded based on income and eligibility. The grants are 100% forgivable. Typical repairs and/or accessibility renovations might include roofing, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, interior/exterior components and accessibility items to improve the quality of life. Emergency need will be determined by program staff based on the existing condition of any given component which is in a state of disrepair that constitutes a health/safety hazard or hindrance to the quality of life. All work is performed by licensed, bonded and insured contractors.
The maximum allowable household income is determined by household size and total gross income. Please refer to the income chart listed on the Home Repair Flier
