Envision the Future Online Engagement
Online engagement is now closed; however, comments will continue to be accepted via email throughout the new comprehensive plan process.
The online interactive comment and mapping exercises mirrored those completed by the hundreds of people who attended the series of workshops held throughout the county in June 2017. This particular online engagement tool for Envision Loudoun was available through July 14, 2017, and was designed to help the county’s Envision Loudoun team engage with as many residents, business owners and other stakeholders as possible. A public input summary will be developed over the next several weeks and is tentatively scheduled to be presented to the Stakeholders Committee on August 14, 2017.
An Envision Loudoun update is tentatively scheduled for Tuesday, September 5, 2017, before the Board of Supervisors
at its business meeting. The meeting is scheduled to begin at 5:00 p.m. in the Board Room on the first floor of the Loudoun County Government Center, 1 Harrison Street, S.E., in Leesburg. The meeting will be televised on Comcast Government Channel 23, Open Band Channel 40, and Verizon FiOS Channel 40. It will also be available for viewing through the Loudoun County webcast system

At the June 22, 2017 Board of Supervisors Business Meeting, the Board directed staff to forward CPAM-2016-0002, Silver Line Comprehensive Plan Amendment, to the Envision Loudoun process for continued study and ultimate inclusion in an updated Countywide comprehensive plan. The Board approved the Shellhorn Road, Randolph Drive, Lockridge Road and Moran Road realignments, a component of CPAM-2016-0002, amending the 2010 Countywide Transportation Plan. The New Comprehensive Plan Stakeholders Committee
, whose members were appointed by the Board of Supervisors, is working with county staff and the county's consultants to help guide the process of developing a New Comprehensive Plan. More information about the committee is online here
The current Comprehensive Plan consists of the Revised General Plan
, the Revised Countywide Transportation Plan
, a companion to the General Plan, and a number of specific strategic and area management plans
. The Comprehensive Plan also serves as the foundation for amendments to the Zoning
and Subdivision ordinances to ensure the county's land use goals are implemented through the regulatory process. This planning effort will focus on developing a new General Plan and a new Countywide Transportation Plan.
