June 2017 Workshops: Envision the Future
Based on the direction of the Plan Charter, the second phase of community engagement was launched in June of 2017. The Envision the Future workshops were hosted both in-person and online through this website. Over 800 people participated over the course of six weeks, sharing more than 3,700 unique ideas.
Review the Envision the Future Summary Report for details about the process and findings. The Stakeholders Committee is considering all input and greatly values the thousands of comments received so far.
An Envision Loudoun update was presented before the Board of Supervisors
at its business meeting on October 3, 2017.

June 22, 2017
At the June 22, 2017 Board of Supervisors Business Meeting, the Board directed staff to forward CPAM-2016-0002, Silver Line Comprehensive Plan Amendment, to the Envision Loudoun process for continued study and ultimate inclusion in an updated Countywide comprehensive plan. The Board approved the Shellhorn Road, Randolph Drive, Lockridge Road and Moran Road realignments, a component of CPAM-2016-0002, amending the 2010 Countywide Transportation Plan. Plan Charter and Foundations Report
The planning process for the new Loudoun County Comprehensive Plan is guided by the Plan Charter, and our consultant team has written a Foundations Report, which summarizes the existing conditions and trends that are shaping Loudoun County.
The New Comprehensive Plan Stakeholders Committee
, whose members were appointed by the Board of Supervisors, is working with county staff and the county's consultants to help guide the process of developing a New Comprehensive Plan. More information about the committee is online here
The current Comprehensive Plan consists of the Revised General Plan
, the Revised Countywide Transportation Plan
, a companion to the General Plan, and a number of specific strategic and area management plans
. The Comprehensive Plan also serves as the foundation for amendments to the Zoning
and Subdivision ordinances to ensure the county's land use goals are implemented through the regulatory process. This planning effort will focus on developing a new General Plan and a new Countywide Transportation Plan.
