FY 2015 Budget is Online
The Fiscal Year 2015 budget for the Loudoun County government is online. The document is available as two separate volumes or as a combined document of Volumes 1 and 2.
On April 2, 2014, the Loudoun County Board of Supervisors approved a budget totaling approximately $1.98 billion for the general county government and school system for Fiscal Year 2015 (FY 15). The adopted budget gives the Loudoun County Public Schools nearly $70 million more than the FY 14 budget.
The Board set the real property tax rate at the equalized tax rate of $1.155 per $100 in assessed value, which will hold the average homeowners’ real property tax bill steady. The personal property tax rate remains unchanged at $4.20 per $100.
Board Concludes Budget Worksessions
The Loudoun County Board of Supervisors concluded its series of budget worksessions on the
County Administrator's Proposed Fiscal Year 2015 spending plan. The final worksession was held March 20, 2014.
At its final FY 15 budget worksession, the Supervisors voted to increase Loudoun County Public Schools (LCPS) funding by $68.3 million, providing a total appropriation of $600.8 million.

Hemstreet Presents Proposed Fiscal Year 2015 Budget

The budget for the Loudoun County Government and Loudoun County Public Schools is funded by numerous sources, including federal, state, and local funds. The primary source of funding in Loudoun County is the real property tax. Other sources of funding include the personal property tax, other taxes and fees, and funding from the Commonwealth of Virginia. The Fiscal Year 2015 (FY 2015) budget will be effective from July 1, 2014 – June 30, 2015.
The budget for the Loudoun County Public Schools is determined by the Loudoun County School Board. The Board of Supervisors decides the overall amount of funding received by LCPS, which is the largest expenditure in the county's fiscal plan. The School Board is responsible for all programmatic funding for LCPS and line items in the LCPS budget, including teacher salary and benefits.
