Land Records & Deed Research
Deed Research
Land records are public documents available for your review and inspection. The records and indexes are retained from 1757 to present. While the Clerk’s Office staff is available to assist you with your research, they are not authorized to perform legal research. Performing land records research may require conducting a title search, which requires legal training and knowledge. For assistance with complicated or extensive land records research, you are encouraged to contact a local title company or real estate attorney.

For Information on recording deeds and other land documents please visit our Land Records Recording Division.

Copies of Land Records
To obtain copies of land records, you must know the instrument number or deed book and page number of the document. The deed book and page number are available in the grantee and grantor indexes. There is a $0.50 per page fee for copies and there is a $2.00 fee for certification of copies. More information on obtaining copies can be found here.

Land Records Remote Retrieval System
The Loudoun County Circuit Court Clerk's Office has a Remote Access subscription service for the dedicated title abstractors and professionals who need to do land records research. More information on this system can be found here.

Real Estate Assessment - The property information made available on this site includes ownership and deed information, legal description, sales information, assessment values and house characteristics and can be searched by Parcel ID Number, Address and Tax Map Number. Parcels are linked to the Loudoun County GIS, with map overlays displaying boundary and environmental information such as topography, soils, flood plain and major roads.

GIS Mapping Database - WebLogis is an interactive mapping system that accesses the county’s Geographic Information System (GIS) directly. Data layers are updated on differing schedules, though addresses, parcels, and streets are updated daily. The mapped information on the site reflects the information on the GIS from the previous day.

These databases are not maintained by the Clerk of Circuit Court. Any questions on the information provided must be made through the county department that maintains the database.
