Litter Clean-Up Opportunities
We all benefit from living in a clean community! The following is a list of opportunities for helping to keep Loudoun County clean and beautiful.

Adopt-A-Highway (Virginia Department of Transportation)
The Adopt-A-Highway Program
is perfect for families, businesses, or civic groups. Anyone can adopt and it costs nothing but time. You agree to pick up litter four times a year for two years. In return, VDOT provides trash bags, vests, important safety information, and highway signs that show your commitment. For more information contact the VDOT Leesburg Office at 703-737-2000.
Adopt-A-Spot (Town of Leesburg Parks & Recreation)
The Leesburg Parks and Recreation Department coordinates an Adopt-A-Spot Program to enhance the environment and appearance of the community (site must be located within the Town of Leesburg). A one-year commitment is required and all sites are subject to the approval of the Town of Leesburg. Adopt-A-Street (Town of Leesburg)
The Leesburg Engineering and Public Works Department coordinates an Adopt-A-Street Program. A two-year commitment is requested, including at least four pick-ups per year, and all sites are subject to the approval of the Town of Leesburg. Adopt-A-Trail (Northern Virginia Regional Park Authority)
Individuals and groups may adopt a section of the W&OD trail to enhance the trail’s beauty. The W&OD trail in Loudoun County covers approximately 23 miles from Sterling Park to Purcellville and includes both a paved trail and parallel bridle trail. Responsibilities include picking up litter, sweeping glass, trimming stray branches, and reporting maintenance problems. Alice Ferguson Foundation: Potomac Watershed Cleanup
Since 1989, more than 40,000 volunteers have teamed with 300 partner organizations to tug over 1,500 tons of trash from the watershed´s streams, rivers and bays. Learn more online at the Ferguson Foundation
Keep Loudoun Beautiful (Non-Profit Organization)
Keep Loudoun Beautiful
(KLB) is a volunteer-based organization that conducts litter clean-ups and education programs in Loudoun County. Clean-up opportunities include annual Spring Clean-Up (held in April), a comprehensive clean-up of Loudoun County, and waterway clean-ups (schedule varies).
