The Loudoun County Planning Commission held a work session on the "Municipal Wells" Zoning Ordinance Amendment (ZOAM) on July 26, 2016. At the conclusion of the work session, the Planning Commission voted to forward the item to the Board of Supervisors with a recommendation of approval with the exception that the requirement for Hydrogeological Testing be removed from the draft text for Section 5-621 additional regulations for Public Utilities. The Loudoun County Planning Commission held a public hearing on the "Municipal Wells" Zoning Ordinance Amendment (ZOAM) on June 28, 2016. At the conclusion of the public hearing, the Planning Commission voted to forward the ZOAM to the July work session for further discussion and to address the outstanding issues identified in the staff report. The Board of Supervisors adopted the Resolution of Intent to Amend Zoning Ordinance Amendment 2016-0004 to establish the new use “Municipal Well”, and add this use as a new permitted use, subject to additional regulations, in the JLMA-1 (Joint Land Management Area-1), JLMA-2 (Joint Land Management Area-2), JLMA-3 (Joint Land Management Area-3), AR-1 (Agricultural Rural-1), and AR-2 (Agricultural Rural-2) at the April 5, 2016, Board of Supervisors Business Meeting.
