Board Denies OpenBand Franchise Agreement
In November 2011, the Board of Supervisors voted to deny a new franchise agreement with OpenBand.

in March 2011, the current agreement, and the technical evaluation of OpenBand are online.
Also online are documents from the July 13, 2011, meeting of the Board's Finance / Government Services and Operations Committee and documents that discuss options for the Board to consider regarding OpenBand customers gaining access to competitors' services and answers from the county's legal counsel to questions asked by Supervisor Lori Waters.
OpenBand provides OVS service to approximately 4,000 customers in Lansdowne, Lansdowne Village Green, some of Leisure World and in Broadlands Southern Walk. Although their franchise agreement has lapsed, they are obligated to continue service while they seek a new franchise.
