Expungement
Petition for Expungement
A petition for expungement is a civil case that is filed to delete police and court records that pertain to a criminal case, when the disposition is an acquittal, nolle prosequi, dismissal, absolute pardon, or when an individual’s name was used in error. Once a record is expunged, the record is removed from public access and sealed, and can only be accessed by court order.
