Our Vision is community-wide access to behavioral and developmental health services with rapid, sustained engagement and meaningful outcomes for children, adolescents, families and adults.

Our Mission is to promote mental, behavioral and developmental health and wellness by connecting individuals and their families with person-centered, recovery-oriented services and supports in partnership with the Loudoun community

Our Values

Integrity * Collaboration * Dedication

By upholding these values, each of us plays an important role in addressing the needs of individuals in Loudoun County who have mental illness, substance use disorders and intellectual and developmental disabilities.

We Act with Integrity

We are professional and honest in our working relationships. We seek equity and consistency in our decision making as well as in our treatment of one another and those we serve. We honor our commitments. We hold ourselves accountable to ethical and performance standards.

We Collaborate

We value a culture that builds cooperative relationships throughout the organization and within the community. We believe that this will result in the best outcomes for the individuals that we serve. We encourage creativity and innovation. We respect individual differences, recognizing they strengthen us as a team and as a community. We share ideas to inspire and learn from one another.

We are Dedicated

Our goal is to provide exceptional service. We listen carefully and respond to the needs and expectations of our customers and our community. We constantly strive to improve the efficiency and effectiveness as well as the quality of our services.

The Department of Mental Health Substance Abuse, and Developmental Services (MHSADS) provides services to mentally disabled Loudoun County residents, including mental health and substance abuse outpatient, emergency services, developmental disabilities, case management, job coaching, early intervention services, residential services, and outreach in all three disability areas.

The Loudoun County Community Services Board oversees MHSADS programs and services, sets departmental policy and procedures, and determines priorities as mandated by the state of Virginia.
