Evergreen Mills Road/Watson Road Safety Audit

Project Background

Evergreen Mills Road is a two-lane undivided roadway that provides east-west (non-tolled) access from Route 15 to Loudoun County Parkway.  Watson Road (Route 860) is a two-lane undivided roadway that provides a north-south connection from U.S. Route 50 to Evergreen Mills Road. 

On October 3, 2017, the Loudoun County Board of Supervisors directed county staff to identify funds to engage a transportation safety consultant to develop a scope of work and plan to conduct a safety audit of Evergreen Mills Road between Battlefield Parkway and Loudoun County Parkway and Watson Road between Evergreen Mills Road and Route 50. On December 5, 2017, the Loudoun County Board of Supervisors approved funds and a scope of work and plan to conduct a safety audit of Evergreen Mills Road between Battlefield Parkway and Loudoun County Parkway and Watson Road between Evergreen Mills Road and Route 50. On July 19, 2018, the Loudoun County Board of Supervisors approved $1.2M to be forwarded to the Fiscal Year 2018 Fund Balance discussion to be used for implementation of the recommended Immediate and Short Term improvements for Evergreen Mills Road and Watson Road.  The item prepared for the Board meeting and the Copy Teste (Summary of the Board's action) are online:


The limits of the road safety audit are:
  • Evergreen Mills Road (Route 621) between Battlefield Parkway and Loudoun County Parkway 
  • Watson Road (Route 860) between Evergreen Mills Road and US Route 50.
