Early Voting Information
Vote Early
Early voting for the November 2024 general election is underway in Loudoun County. Early voting began in Leesburg on September 20, 2024. Additional sites opened Monday, October 21. See below for exact dates and hours for all sites.
Early voting is a process in which voters can vote before Election Day. All registered voters in Virginia are eligible to vote early in person, no excuse required.
Please note that if you have previously submitted a request for permanent absentee ballot by mail your ballot will be mailed on or around September 20, 2024. If you no longer wish to vote by mail you must complete and submit the request found here.
Know Before You Go
Before you head to an early voting site:
- Check your registration and make sure everything is correct on the Virginia Department of Elections Citizen Portal.
- Have your acceptable ID with you. This includes voter card, driver’s license, state ID card, and more.
- Check out the sample ballots so you can get in, vote and get moving safely.
Important Dates & Deadlines for Tuesday, November 5, 2024, General Election
- In-person early voting starts at the Office of Elections - Friday, September 20, 2024
- Traffic Note: Voters who plan to cast their ballots at the Office of Elections and Voter Registration should be aware of the possibility of increased traffic in the area and that there will be designated parking spots for voters (PDF). Drivers should look for directional signage and possible changes in existing traffic patterns during the early voting period.
- The Office of Elections will be closed Monday, October 14, 2024.
- Deadline to register or update your information - Tuesday, October 15, 2024.
- Voters may register after October 15, 2024, and vote a provisional ballot. For information about Same-Day Voter Registration, visit the Virginia Department of Elections website.
- Last day to vote early in-person - Saturday, November 2, 2024.

- Early voting starts - Friday, September 20, 2024
- Early voting hours - Monday to Friday 8:30 am - 5:00 pm.
- The Office of Elections will be closed Monday, October 14, 2024.
- Extended hours-
- Tuesday- October 22 and October 29 – office remains open until 7:00 p.m.
- Thursday- October 24 and October 31 – office remains open until 7:00 p.m.
- Saturday- October 26 and November 2 – office will be open from 9:00 a.m.- 5:00 pm.
